SOUTH AFRICA NATIONAL PEACE PROJECT (SANPP)- “YES WE CAN, UNITED WE STAND”

The SANPP was created as a tribute to Peace Icon Rohlihlanhla Nelson Mandela. Its objective is to build peace in communities through education, and by standing up against racism and violence. Since its launch in 2010 it has educated thousands of Teachers, Learners and Parents through its workshops and Peace art initiatives across South Africa. Winforce Training Academy (PTY) Ltd works in close association with the Non-profit organisation.

The relationship is two-fold:

The SANPP facilitates a Peacebuilding and Life Skills Workshop for all enrolled students, in order to adjust and mentally prepare them for the workplace. It further aims to build self-confidence and inner strength.

Second, it makes available a number of sponsorships for deserving candidates who cannot afford to pay for their training. Networking is done through churches and Kingfisher Radio, and social media, to identify candidates.

We believe this Workshop equips our students with the correct attitude which leads to gainful employment. Please see comments on this website from our training partners/roleplayers who play a critical role in the up-skill and employment of our students,

PROJECT CAPUCHIN HAVEN

CAPUCHIN HAVEN - Defending the defenseless

Capuchin Haven is a Non-Profit Organization (Registration Number 2022/697208) and safe environment created for habituated, orphaned monkeys.

Destitute, domesticated monkeys who’s owners could no longer care for them due to financial, health or personal reasons became the catalyst for this initial intervention by animal lover and owner Pettie Pretorius in Centurion, Gauteng.

She fell in love with monkeys, in particular Capuchins, years ago, after adopting marmosets which were abandoned.

In time it became a fully fledged sanctuary and Haven, where fifty monkeys are currently cared for with love and dedication, purely for safety and survival reasons.

Capuchin Haven is also a Centre of Learning and support for new “monkey parents”. Information and knowledge is shared for the benefit of the monkeys.

The Haven prides itself in defending the defenseless, by providing a permanent home and environmental activities crucial to their emotional development.

Many of the monkeys are Capuchins – Weeper and Tufted – of the genus Cebus. They are considered the most intelligent among the New World Monkeys. The Capuchins are named for their “caps” of hair, which resemble the cowls of Capuchin monks, and have been used in many movies and television shows.

They share about 97% of their DNA with humans, and are omnivores.

There are no specific laws protecting these unique monkeys, which may be kept without permits in Gauteng.

Dedicated veterinarians work closely with Capuchin Haven, with the aim to ensure the natural needs of the monkeys are met as far as possible.

Capuchin Haven does not receive any government funding and are solely reliant on donations and volunteers to continue with this work.
